Product details +
Agun Mati — fire and earth.
Brown Matka silk forms the ground.
Textured, earthy and carrying a soft shimmer.
Against it comes orange.
The body carries Tissue Temple Shibori, while the border is worked with temple Shibori design in orange and brown.
The pallu continues the conversation in orange and brown Shibori work.
Earth through the body.
Ember at the edge.
Two kinds of deliberate irregularity meet in the same cloth.
According to the supplied craft information, Shibori is a resist-dyeing technique in which cloth is bound, stitched or folded before dyeing. The protected areas resist the colour, leaving patterns with soft, breathing edges.
Worked on Bengal Matka silk, that fluid geometry sits against the fabric's characteristic nubbled texture.
One irregularity comes from the cloth.
The other comes from the resist.
Handwoven on a pit loom in Phulia, West Bengal, with a supplied making time of approximately 8–10 days.
The blouse piece is plain brown Matka silk with shimmer.
Autumn colours, close-range rewards — a saree warmed from inside.

Brown Matka silk gives the saree its textured, grounded field, while orange-and-brown Shibori temple forms bring warmth and softly irregular geometry to the border and pallu.
Shibori on Matka — two irregularities, both deliberate.
Shibori creates soft-edged pattern by resisting dye through binding, stitching or folding; worked on Bengal Matka silk, that fluid geometry meets the fabric’s naturally nubbled texture.
