Handwoven on a traditional pit loom in Molakalmuru, Karnataka, the saree belongs to a weaving tradition known for fine mulberry silk, lustrous texture, subtle shot effects and intricate three-shuttle weaving. The restrained teal body allows the contrast of deep purple and gold to become more pronounced as light moves through the drape.
