Product details +
Hari Chahak — green birdsong.
Birds settle across green linen from end to end.
One after another.
Each placed by hand through the Dabu process.
The body carries bird motifs all over, turning the uninterrupted green field into a quiet rhythm of repeated forms.
At the edge, the pattern changes.
A thin silver zari border with a leaf motif brings a narrow metallic line against the green.
Then the pallu moves fully into foliage, with leaf motif stripes running across it.
Birds through the body.
Leaves at the border.
Leaves again at the close.
According to the supplied craft information, Dabu is a mud-resist hand block printing tradition of Rajasthan. A resist paste made from mud and natural binders is pressed onto the cloth using carved wooden blocks before dyeing. Once the paste is washed away, the resisted pattern remains.
Every impression is placed individually by hand, block beside block, so small shifts in alignment belong naturally to the character of the cloth.
Worked in Rajasthan using the hand block print method, with a supplied making time of approximately 12–15 days.
The blouse piece is plain green linen with a silver and leaf motif border, continuing the saree's details without repeating the all-over birds.
A cheerful saree that never tries too hard.
