Jamuni Chitra — pictures in purple.
Pichwai motifs cover purple Chanderi silk from end to end.
Figurative.
Repeated.
Placed by hand through the Dabu process.
The body carries Pichwai motifs all over, with white and black working against the purple ground.
Then the vocabulary changes at the edge.
A thin golden zari border with an abstract design stripe introduces a more graphic line alongside the figurative body.
The pallu takes that second idea further.
Abstract design stripes run all across, replacing the Pichwai motifs with repeated geometry.
Pictures through the body.
Gold at the edge.
Abstraction at the close.
Two different ideas, kept deliberately distinct.
According to the supplied craft information, Dabu is a mud-resist hand block printing tradition of Rajasthan. A resist paste made from mud and natural binders is pressed onto the cloth with carved wooden blocks before dyeing. When the paste is washed away, the resisted pattern remains.
Every impression is placed individually by hand, block beside block, so small shifts in alignment belong naturally to the character of the cloth.
Worked in Rajasthan using the hand block print method, with a supplied making time of approximately 12–15 days.
The blouse piece is plain purple Chanderi silk with zari and an abstract design motif along the border.
A saree that holds two ideas at once and keeps both clear.

Jamuni Chitra is hand block printed using the Dabu mud-resist technique. Since every impression is placed individually by hand, slight variations in the Pichwai motifs, abstract patterns, resist work and alignment are natural characteristics of the craft.

Pichwai motifs fill the purple Chanderi silk body before a narrow gold edge introduces abstract pattern, which then takes over completely across the pallu.
In Rajasthan's Dabu tradition, mud resist is pressed onto cloth with carved wooden blocks before dyeing, allowing repeated motifs to retain the subtle shifts of work placed by hand.
