Product details +
Jamuni Parinde — birds in purple.
Bird motifs move across purple Chanderi silk from end to end.
Repeated.
Light against the deeper ground.
Placed by hand through the Dabu process.
The body carries bird motifs all over, with white and black forming the contrast against purple.
Then gold enters at the edge.
A thin golden zari border opens into large diamond motifs, shifting the saree from organic forms to clear geometry.
The pallu takes that geometry further, carrying the diamond motif border all across.
Birds through the body.
Diamonds at the edge.
Diamonds across the close.
Purple holds both without becoming crowded.
According to the supplied craft information, Dabu is a mud-resist hand block printing tradition of Rajasthan. A resist paste made from mud and natural binders is pressed onto the cloth with carved wooden blocks before dyeing. When the paste is washed away, the resisted pattern remains.
Every impression is placed individually by hand, block beside block, so small shifts in alignment belong naturally to the character of the cloth.
Worked in Rajasthan using the hand block print method, with a supplied making time of approximately 12–15 days.
The blouse piece is plain purple Chanderi silk with a zari and diamond motif border.
For evenings that are festive but not formal.
