Neel Vriksh — the tree in indigo.
The Tree of Life repeats across indigo Habutai silk.
Yellow.
Red.
White.
Each colour placed through the Bagru hand block printing process.
The body carries Tree of Life motifs all over, their warmer colours standing clearly against the deep indigo ground.
At the edge, the motif changes completely.
A border of red, yellow and beige zigzag motifs introduces a sharper geometry.
The pallu brings both languages together.
Trees, stripes and triangles fill the palla, moving from the organic form of the body into a more graphic finish.
Trees through the body.
Zigzags at the edge.
Trees, stripes and triangles at the close.
Against indigo, the composition turns cooler and more graphic.
According to the supplied craft information, Bagru is a hand block printing tradition associated with generations of Chhipa printing families near Jaipur in Rajasthan. Designs are carved into wooden blocks and stamped onto the cloth by hand, one impression at a time, with a separate block for each colour.
Aligning one block against another by eye is part of the skill, and the slight variations that remain are characteristic of a hand-printed length.
Neel Vriksh is hand block printed in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with a supplied making time of approximately 20–25 days.
The blouse piece is indigo Habutai silk with white polka dots, changing scale from the larger motifs of the saree to a simple repeated dot.
A deep colour for an everyday silk.

Tree of Life motifs spread across deep indigo silk before red, yellow and beige zigzags sharpen the border and trees meet stripes and triangles at the pallu.
Hand block printed in Jaipur, each colour is stamped with its own carved wooden block, leaving the subtle alignment shifts that belong to work placed by hand.
