According to the supplied craft information, Kosa is the wild Tussar silk of Chhattisgarh, woven by hand on pit looms in and around Champa. The fibre has a dry, understated sheen, natural surface variation and more body than mulberry silk.
Here, that Tussar ground is worked in tissue gold and deliberately kept plain, allowing the surface itself to become the principal detail.
