Product details +
Tiya Bon — a forest of parrots.
Parrots and leaves move across beige Gachi Tussar.
Birds in flight.
Leaves between them.
Every form built by hand in Kantha.
The body carries parrot and leaf motifs all over the saree, stitched in multicolour against the natural beige ground.
Then geometry gives the movement a frame.
A multicolour skirt border of geometric diamonds runs along the edge, setting ordered repetition against the freer bird and leaf motifs.
The pallu brings the two languages together.
Multicoloured parrots gather among leaf and geometric diamond motifs, carrying both nature and geometry into the saree's final section.
Parrots through the body.
Diamonds at the edge.
Birds, leaves and geometry at the close.
According to the supplied craft information, Kantha is the running-stitch embroidery tradition of Bengal. Worked entirely by hand, row upon row of small stitches build figures, flowers and scenes across the cloth while giving its surface a soft ripple.
Tiya Bon is worked in Nichubandhgora, Santiniketan (Bolpur, Birbhum), West Bengal, with a supplied making time of approximately 4–6 months.
The blouse piece is beige Gachi Tussar with a geometric diamond border, continuing the structured geometry used along the saree's skirt border.
Bright, lively and all handwork.
